Pregnancy and Postpartum Chiropractic

Gentle chiropractic care with Webster Technique during pregnancy is safe and important as your body goes through many changes while the baby grows.  Webster Technique is a special certification which is advanced training that not all chiropractors are certified in.   Dr. Rhae became certified in Webster Technique in 2015 through the ICPA and chiropractors holding certification in Webster Technique are trained to work specifically with pelvic alignment in pregnancy, allowing you & your baby to be more comfortable.   Sciatica, mid or low back pain, groin pain, and pubic symphysis pain are all problems that chiropractic care can help lessen or alleviate during pregnancy.  Maintaining proper pelvic alignment through Webster technique also helps to keep proper nervous system function for when the body is ready to go into labor and also helps to widen the pelvic inlet where baby needs to pass during delivery.

Dr. Rhae's goal for the new mother is to help her through the process of postpartum healing.  Many mothers experience pain in the lower back, hips and pubic bone area following labor and delivery.  Specific chiropractic adjustments may help to decrease those symptoms.  Some woman may also experience diastasis recti or a split in the rectus abdominus muscle.  Dr. Rhae is trained in specific rehabilitative exercises through her BirthFIT certification to help the diastasis recti heal and enhance the mother's overall core strength.

Neck pain, upper back pain and headaches are also common symptoms which can stem from postures associated with the many tasks of motherhood including breastfeeding, holding a child, carrying a car seat, etc.  Chiropractic adjustments can be great in helping to alleviate these symptoms.
